ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN DEVELOPED ECONOMIES 2018

This Study tour aims to inspire and empower students through the understanding of entrepreneurship ecosystems that accelerate startups to become successful corporations that innovate and empower growth. Specific learning objective:Understanding Entrepreneurship in Underdeveloped Economies – Guatemala:

  • Learn through the UFM GEM GT 2018 the reality of Entrepreneurship
  • Learn how the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem works in Guatemala
  • Visit the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem at zone 4, and understand what opportunities it presents

Understand how an Entrepreneurship Ecosystems works

  • Understand investment opportunities: Angel investors, VCs, microfinancing and bank Loans
  • Learn about learning environments: Accelerators, Co-working Spaces, Entrepreneurship Centers
  • Understand how public policy and laws affect the creation of startups

Understanding Entrepreneurship in Developed Economies – Utah

  • Visit Entrepreneurship Centers, Accelerators and Co-working spaces to understand the differences
  • Talk to student entrepreneurs, alumni entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and angel investors
  • Visit and learn from Startups, mid-size companies and big corporations

Total: 1.5 UMAs | Valid as: Experience, Entrepreneurship Elective and/or Management Elective | Study tour, includes 4 preparation sessions (Fridays at 1:00PM) | Group size: Up to 12 students/alumni

Students & Alumni: To further enrich the experience and enhance personal networks, we aim to have a mix between undergrad students and alumni. All FCE undergrad students welcomed.

Discover how Open Innovation works @ companies and startups around San Francisco and Silicon Valley. This Study tour aims to inspire and empower you to lead or in the practical design of open innovation projects, from ideation to implementation. It combines cutting-edge open innovation theory (grounded in network, economic and organizational behavior perspectives) with practical application strategies and will include training from industry experts who implement Open Innovation to transform businesses. Throughout company visits, we will look at models used in Silicon Valley to grow both start-up companies as well as innovation inside large organizations.

THE FINANCIAL WORLD AT NEW YORK CITY 2018

Un viaje de cuatro días con reuniones intensivas donde podrán conversar con inversionistas y banqueros.  Conocerán de primera mano su opinión sobre temas relevantes de finanzas. Se visitarán empresas e instituciones de relevancia en el mundo financiero.  

Total UMAs 1.5 | Valido como electivo de Gerencia o Minor de Finanzas | Cupo limitado | Los participantes, tendrán sesiones preparatorias previo al viaje (asistencia obligatoria).

¿Quiénes pueden participar?Podrán participar alumnos que estén llevando el curso de Mercado de Capitales o Financiera III, de los alumnos que se postulen se seleccionarán aquellos con mejor promedio.  Por otra parte, tendrán prioridad los alumnos del Minor de Finanzas.Costo del viaje $1600, lo cual incluye:

  • Hospedaje – 4 noches (habitación doble)
  • Desayunos incluidos en el hotel
  • Cena de bienvenida
  • Cada alumno es responsable de sus gastos de viaje (viáticos y boleto aéreo).

START-UP NATION STUDY TOUR 2019

Discover how Israel, a country with only 7 million people, no natural resources, enemies on every border, and in a constant state of war, can produce more start-up companies than many of the leading economies. This Study tour aims to inspire students through the visit of kibbutz, industrial parks, meeting with entrepreneurs in Tel Aviv, Herzliya and Jerusalem, to understanding how startups, and mid-size companies operate and scale up. We will immerse in the Israeli culture by; learning its history, understanding its religion, interacting with people, discovering its cuisine and traveling through the urban and rural sites that make Israel what it is today.

Este programa es para aquellos comprometidos con la innovación continua y la transformación digital, este programa intensivo permitirá que conozcan las nuevas y más exitosas metodologías de innovación. Además, tendrán la posibilidad de certificarse en Lean IT y Scrum Master.
