Rules and Procedures:
1) Present application for doctoral program (“Application Form, Doctoral Program in Economics”)
to the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program, plus other admission
requirements (see Section 1). (The application form may be printed from
the doctoral program web-site, or may be obtained at the office of the
College of Economic Sciences, or from the Program Coordinator.)
2) Request a personal interview with a member of the Admissions
Committee. The interviewer’s comments should be written in the
“Observations” box, or on a separate sheet attached to the aplication
form.
3) The Admissions Committee will determine if the applicant must take
one or more of the tests described in Section 1, and will set dates for
same. The applicant must register for these tests with the Coordinator
of the Doctoral Program. If the applicant fails any of the required
tests, he/she will not be admitted to the program.
4) Applicants that pass the required tests, or that have been granted
waivers, must must fill out an application for Ph.D. candidacy (“Application Form, Ph.D. Candidacy), present a thesis proposal within the following six months, and follow the procedures as per Sections 2 and 3.
5) Once the thesis is approved by the Tutor, the candidate must request, in writing, a date for the oral defense.
6) All aspects not covered by this document will be decided by
reference to the rules and procedures of the College of Economic
Sciences and of UFM (“Reglamento de la FCE” and “Reglamento de la UFM”).
